Ministry Serving Opportunities

Find Ways to Use Your Superpowers!

At Grace we have a passion to make a kingdom difference in our community and world. This happens as we serve the poor, the struggling and the hurting; as we fight against injustice as directed by Scripture; and as we share and encourage others to take one step closer to Jesus.

The ministries at Grace are both outwardly and inwardly focused. In order to be Jesus' hands and feet in our community, we also need to care for our body, the church.

On this Ministry Highlights page, we'll provide updates and links for you to understand our involvement and to point to ways you can take another step of faith by finding ways to serve that fit your calling and goals in this season of life.

Jesus calls us salt and light. As we draw closer to Him, we find His plan for us to serve. As we serve, we draw closer to Him.

Can You Help?

What's YOUR superpower? What gives you joy, draws you closer to God and others, gives you a sense of purpose in the Kingdom? When you have an idea on how you're gifted by God, it can help you match that up with ways to serve. Interested in more on this? Click the button below!

Local Outreach

This team manages our "local missions" here in our communities. Our goal is to have the greatest impact we can to fulfill felt needs and to help people come to know and have a personal relationship with Jesus. In addition to ongoing ministry with local agencies, this team coordinates our four-times-per year G-City events, where easy-to-serve opportunities are presented to our Grace family. The prayer is that ALL of Grace will have hearts on fire to serve with us...we recognize that some of the greatest blessings are those given to those who do the serving. The team needs a few more people to help to orchestrate this ministry

Global Missions

We meet about once a month to review reports and prayer requests from our missionaries around the world. We compile their news to share with the congregation, pray for them, and review budgets. We coordinate periodic missionary visits to Grace, and plan mission trips that the congregation can participate in (albeit, Covid-19 has impacted this). We need one or two more people to help us on the team.

Ushers

Ushering is a simple way to get to know people at Grace! It's an easy area to plug into; you can serve one or more Sundays per month as your schedule allows. We arrive 20 minutes early and stay after services to set up/clean up things like communion tables, outdoor music/message sheets, offering boxes, etc., and collect the offering following each service. The pandemic hit this team hard, and we're looking for half a dozen people to help us out!

Guest Services Center

We're not yet ready to open the booth, but as (we pray) Covid-19 wanes and we are all safer in congregating, we'll be back in action. We also have been affected by the pandemic and need to refresh our ranks. GSC duties are simple: we set up and clean up the counter, help new people with directions/questions/hello cards, and smile alot! Easy peasy!

Common Grounds

This team is the group who brew coffee and set up the coffee/beverage/snack service on Sundays. Teams of two spend about 1.5 hours on a given Sunday morning to make sure our guests and Grace family feel warmly welcomed. We, too, aren't yet in a position to serve until the pandemic wanes, but we want to be at the ready when it does. We need several folks to help to be a part of our team!

Benevolence

This team meets periodically when a request for financial help comes in. Most of the work is done via emails as the team prayerfully considers the request and determines whether and how to help to meet it. The team also works on Covid-19 relief requests for those who have been impacted by job loss and other financial burdens. We're looking for a couple of discerning individuals to help us to put feet to scripture - James 1:27 “to look after people in their distress."
