Serving our community together on September 30th!

What’s G-City? It’s a play on words…it’s Grace turned outward to the City…it’s our Genero-City…it’s our Generations working together to make a difference.

What to Expect on September 30th

Grace will offer one worship service on G-City Sunday, starting at 9:00am. It’ll be a little shorter than usual, to allow us to set up and kick off our serving opportunities. If you usually attend second service, think about coming at 9:00am instead for this special event.

G-City serving projects will begin in the sanctuary around 10:00-10:15am.

How Can I Serve?

We have a plethora of ways you can engage with your family, friends, and neighbors (invite them along!):

Roof Repairs for GAP SPLASH House – We will support GAP in "rolling a roof" and doing other construction repairs on a local home for a nearby residential family-style large foster home, called a SPLASH House, where they care for children 0-21 years of age who are placed with them. This project will be outdoors and is limited to adults and students age 15+.

Toy "Store" Organization at GAP Warehouse – GAP has a warehouse with new shelving in need of stocking up with donated toys. The toys need to be sorted, dusted off, and in some cases might need light repairs - and then need to be placed on the shelving. GAP will then be able to bring foster children in to "shop" for a toy on occasion.

Make Blankets and Quilting Squares for SISTER’s Threads of Connection – Cut and tie fleece blankets and/or color fabric squares with fabric markers that SISTER will use to bless children with needed bedding. This was a popular activity at our prior G-City! Don't miss out on the fun!

Grace Grounds Clean Up – One of our projects this time around will be to help with general clean up around our Grace campus, and to re-stain the play structure on the children's playground.

Brookdale Nursing Home Visit – We will bless the residents of Brookdale with a visit where we can get to know them, spend some time with them, and maybe play some games or sing some songs.

Birthday Party for Wing 300 at Mountain View Care Center – The residents in Wing 300 are older individuals suffering various stages of dementia. On 9/30, we will make gifts and decorations for them, and then we'll take the birthday party to them on 10/27.

Donate Walmart Gift Cards for Catalina Village – Fall into Christmas with us!  We will continue to collect Walmart gift cards to save up as Christmas gifts for all the residents of Catalina Village! Take an ornament off the tree and bring back the gift card!

Fill a Baby Bottle with Change - Pick up baby bottles at Grace on 9/30 and fill them during the month of October to help benefit mothers, fathers, and families supported by Family First.

Eat at Rubio's – Serve at Grace and enjoy a good meal (or two!) as a fundraising activity to support our G-City ministries. You need to present a flyer at time of purchase...be sure to grab one at Grace or download one by clicking HERE

Give Blood - Sign up at our G-City table to donate blood on 11/4 right at Grace.

Signup in the sanctuary at the Sign-Up Table starting September 16th!
